The 20/20 Experience is the third studio album by recording artist Justin Timberlake. At the time of its release in March 2013, The 20/20 Experience was the fastest selling album in iTunes history and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart, selling 968,000 copies in its first week. The 20/20 Experience went on to become the best selling album of 2013 in the U.S.
The album explores themes of romance and sex, but is there more beneath the surface? This session invites participants to examine The 20/20 Experience through a different set of lenses. In this discussion, we will watch several of Timberlake’s music videos to generate questions about what is being communicated to consumers of popular culture when it comes to sex and gender roles. Bring your opinions, your thoughts, your rants, and your love for popular culture!
Facilitated by Adam McCallister and Erin Barclay. For more information about the event, contact Dr. Jenn Freitag at firstname.lastname@example.org or 618.549.4807 x251.
Remember, Sunday March 30 is the last day to drop classes online. If you are unsure of your standing in English 102, please come talk to me.
